A social network bug has polluted users’ news feed.
But what about Facebook? For several hours, social network users complained that their news feed was overrun with strange posts. Many messages shared on the walls of celebrities have been highlighted by the algorithm, as shown in the video below:
Users have taken this opportunity to share their PayPal link, or promote cryptocurrency scams.

This unexplained bug seems to have affected French users, but also European and American users. Requests flow to the downdetector site, a tool for identifying failures of large web pages.
On Twitter, Facebook’s communications department gave an explanation: “A configuration change caused issues with Facebook’s News Feed for some people. We have resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone involved and apologize for the inconvenience.“.
