Facebook and Instagram have again large-scale failures. Thousands of users complain on Twitter that they cannot reach social networks. Details are not yet known. It would be the company’s second major problems within a week.
While Facebook is currently still available in Switzerland, Instagram is at least partially no longer working. A Blick user reports: “It charges and charges and charges, but nothing happens.”
According to the “Down Detector” website, which monitors the world’s most visited websites, more than 30,000 malfunction reports were received for Instagram within a short space of time on Friday evening. Almost 2000 malfunction reports were recorded for Facebook. So it seems like the problems on Instagram are much more serious.
Instgram apologizes in a short statement and promises to remedy the faults as soon as possible.
Facebook also apologizes for the failures. “We are aware that some people and companies have difficulty accessing Facebook products,” said a company spokesman on Friday. “We are working on a speedy return to normal and apologize for any inconvenience.” Facebook did not provide any information about the extent of the problem or possible reasons.
Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp would not be available for hours on Monday. Billions of users were affected. Mark Zuckerberg’s company apologized for the glitches they explained with network glitches. The share of Facebook still lost five percent of its value on the stock exchange. (vof / SDA)
