A decision by the district court of Meiningen (LG Meiningen, decision of August 5th, 2022, 6 Qs 146/22) shows that a simple “like” in social media can already be a criminal offense. This is specifically the case if the post rated “Like” has criminal content.
The reason for this was the case of the double murder of police officers in the district of Kusel at the beginning of the year, in which a hunter and a poacher reacted to a vehicle check with deadly force. It was a big topic on social media, and most people were shocked.
