Environmental influences, make-up and stress can really affect our skin. But that doesn't mean that we now have to do without a beautiful complexion! What you can do for yourself and your skin.

Make facial steam bath yourself

Clogged pores can be the cause of blemished skin, blackheads or pimples on the face. There is a suitable solvent for this: a facial steam bath! This opens the pores and the sebum can flow away better. You can easily make the steam bath yourself at home. For this you need:

  • Approx. 1 liter of water
  • Pot or other heat-resistant container
  • Additions as desired
  • towel

Additives for your nourishing skin bath

You can adapt the additives to your skin. For example:

  • chamomile has an antiseptic and calming effect
  • Tea tree oil is often used for acne
  • Dead sea Salt has a cleansing, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect
  • peppermint is said to stimulate blood circulation and have an anti-inflammatory effect
  • Marigold soothes and cleanses
  • rosemary promotes blood circulation and has an invigorating effect
  • sage has a disinfecting and anti-inflammatory effect

Instructions for a facial steam bath

  1. First, you clean your face of dirt and make-up so that it gets the most out of the steam bath.
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Then either fill it from the kettle into a heat-resistant bowl or keep it in the pot.
  4. If you wish, you can now add additives and let them draw a little.
  5. Sit right in front of your hot water and place your towel over your head.
  6. Bend over the bowl or pot and keep a distance of about 30 centimeters so that it still feels comfortable for you.
  7. Close your eyes and let the soothing steam rise into your face for about ten to 15 minutes.
  8. Finally, rinse your face with cool water and dry your skin.

If you want to know more about it, here are 20 foods that are good for your skin and hair. Exercise also has positive effects, as it perfuses our skin and also helps against stress, which can also be bad for the complexion.
