Fairy Tail 2: a totally unexpected sequel revealed, with a predictable storyline

In the category of games coming out of nowhere and whose presence it was difficult to predict during the last Nintendo Direct, the one that interests us now is well placed. In 2020, Koei Tecmo And Gust were going out Fairy Tail, a RPG adapting the work of Hiro Mashima, at least the arcs of Tenro Island (just as an intro) until Tartaros. Yes, the ending of the manga and the anime were not covered even though they had already been published, which was quite a shame, the quality of the game aside. It was therefore with surprise that we learned thata second game simply called Fairy Tail 2 is in development and will cover the arc Arbaless, with undoubtedly the few elements introducing it following the one-year ellipse. The green light was undoubtedly given due to the animated adaptation of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Questwhich will begin next month.

For the moment, the only preview during the presentation of Nintendo so shows us THE Twelve of Sprigganservants of theArbaless Empire and its emperor Zerefas well as the human form ofAcnologia at the end of the video. We will be able to embody Natsu, Lucy and other guild members including Juvia, Wendy, Gajeel, Laxus, Mirajane And Erza. The clashes will take place in real time with a command systembut obviously without being a pure Action RPG considering how static the enemies shown are, not to mention the interface feels more like a dynamic turn-based game than anything else. The press release mentions a vast map to explore, as well as the presence of Japanese voices and subtitles in English and French. There will also be new content taking place after the end of the original plot, called in English Key to the Unknownand character stories to get to know them, in addition to various interactions.

Fairy Tail 2 is expected during winter 2024 on PS5, PS4, Switch and PC (Windows and Steam). Until then, you have time to make the first part, sold €43.88 on Amazon. Visuals can be seen on the next page.
