Fake or real magic? No matter !: Erling Haaland tears up the Internet

Fake or real magic? All the same!
Erling Haaland tears up the Internet

Erling Haaland does magic on the Internet and tears up a target in the corner of the goal with three balls stacked on top of each other. Is it all a fake, just video magic? All the same. For the exceptional striker from BVB half – oh what – all of Europe tears. Bayern too?

The poor target. Almost eleven million people on Twitter watched a video on the English Bundesliga account within just 16 hours in which Erling Haaland did something magical. He stacks three balls on top of each other, that’s an art in itself. But then the Norwegian lets them hiss with Terminator precision without a miss in the corner of the goal – the plastic target is downright shredded. Haaland cheers almost in disbelief.

The little film is (of course) not real, but it plays with it: One would trust the exceptional striker from Borussia Dortmund to do this magic. But the Norwegian is also for the league game against FSV Mainz 05 (Saturday, 3.30 p.m. / Sky and in the live ticker at ntv.de.) probably not really fit yet. “He really wants to help, but we don’t have to fool around: Time is running out,” said his coach Marco Rose.

On several levels. In the summer, oh well, already now, he himself is the target, this Haaland, who can then go for an allegedly 75 million euros fixed fee. At least those who can and want to afford it are aimed at his future services. FC Bayern is apparently not one of them.

Hummels has not given up on Haaland

The question of whether the record champions could finance the exceptional Norwegian striker “does not arise with us,” said President Herbert Hainer: “In Robert Lewandowski we have the reigning world footballer who scores goals every season like no other.” However, he will be 34 years old in the summer.

Probably the goal phenomenon Haaland has outgrown the dimensions of the Bundesliga. Spanish media are sure: Real Madrid would sell their house and yard to sign the man who is set to become the world striker of the coming decade. The English “Times” reports the same about the richly wealthy Manchester City, the former club of Haaland’s father Alf-Inge. Accordingly, talks with Haaland’s advisor Mino Raiola should start in January – who in turn has a reputation for putting clubs in the lemon squeezer.

Mats Hummels takes a fairly relaxed look at this. The experienced BVB central defender recently took Haaland aside again to tell him the following: “That the grass on the other side isn’t always greener.” Everyone in the club would just have to stretch and, as it were, court their colleagues’ favor. “I hope that we can all show how good we are. And then hopefully he will see even more that he has very, very good teammates here,” said Hummels of “Sport Bild”. “I haven’t given up hope that he’ll stay for a long time.” Titles, combined with “Real Love” from the club slogan, are good arguments for another year of development.

But Hummels has also recognized: This gifted person, who has a contract until 2024, belongs to the limited category of players “who work everywhere”. In the end, the fight will probably be in vain. In an overheated market, Haaland is currently even outperforming France’s world champion striker Kylian Mbappé (Paris St. Germain, also coveted by Real Madrid) as the hottest iron.

No wonder that FC Bayern does not want to take part in the competition too aggressively. In principle, the association is ready to invest despite reduced income, said Hainer. But look “all the more at how you design your expenses”. So it is rather not the moment to break the salary structure with a salary of 30, 40 million euros per year. As tempting as the internet magician may be.
