Falcom announces Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria, the next Trails

After two parts of Trails Through Daybreak, which opened a new narrative arc within this line of RPGs whose beginnings date back to 2004’s Trails in the Sky, Falcom already seems to be closing a page by announcing Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria . This opus, which will be the 20th anniversary of Trails, therefore sports a title in the form of a farewell with the continent of Zemuria, the one on which all the events of the saga have so far taken place.

The few lines which accompany this announcement carry a message clearly suggesting that an important page will be turned with this episode and that Falcom is finally ready to take its players beyond the continent in question, in particular to discover “ the true nature of the world “, just that. Note that Falcom has exceptionally preferred not to announce platforms for the moment.

The Trails franchise now has 7.5 million games sold worldwide. The localization train is a few stations late, the next episode to come to us will be The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak in the summer of 2024.

Ys

Alongside this announcement, Falcom revealed some interesting statistics on the sales of Ys X: Nordics, available in Japan and a few other Asian markets since September 28. Thanks to Internet users present at the general meeting of shareholders, we learned that the action-RPG achieved 50% of its sales on PlayStation 5, 30% on Switch and 20% on PlayStation 4, but also that the share of download sales is 40%, which comfortably increases the boxed sales figures estimated by Famitsu. Falcom has also confirmed that download sales tend to gradually take over physical sales the further away we go from the launch weeks.
