Mediatonic gave us an appointment today to introduce us to the most ” fat » announcement of the story of Fall Guys, and we suspected that it would have something to do with its availability on Xbox consoles and Switch. And we were not mistaken, since the studio announced the release date of these new versions, with another major announcement: the game will become free-to-play.
Free for everyone
Fall Guys will soon be available on all platforms, with the arrival of Switch and Xbox versions, but also an Epic Games Store version, which will make the Steam version disappear (it will no longer be possible to download it on June 21). We are also told abouta PS5 version which will display 4K and 60 fps for an even smoother experience, while specifying that it is necessary now redownload the game on PS4 to continue playing.
If you wonder what will give the Switch version, we are told that the game will run at 30 fps/720p on portable, and at 30fps/1080p. And since the game offers cross-play and cross-progression, you can easily switch between platforms while maintaining your progress.
Good news, you won’t have to go back to the checkout to get the game on these new platforms. As of June 21, the arrival date of these new versions, Fall Guys will go free-to-play.
People who purchased the game will receive a Legacy Pack with three costumes, but also access to the Season Pass Premium of the first season of the game in free-to-play. This new Season Pass will simply give access to additional cosmetics.
What to expect from Fall Guys for the sequel?
There will also be new features, with new costumes and new events in a large stadium.thanks to a gameplay update that will be the biggest since the game’s release. Plus, new collaborations with other series, like Assassin’s Creedwill soon be in the game.
The studio’s next big project will be to focus on the level editor, which is well under development. It will soon be possible to create your own tests and share them, but you will have to be patient to discover all thisbecause we are warned that this functionality is still not very advanced.
