Fallout 76: “What Metal Are You Made Of” Update Released

Recently, during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 conference, the studio in charge of Fallout 76 revealed more information about the content Expeditions: The Pitt, coming in September. In the meantime, the title has just welcomed a new free update, titled “What Metal Are You Made Of”. Currently available on all gaming platforms, this patch weighs around 25 GB on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, compared to 17 GB (Steam) and 26 GB (Microsoft Store) on PC.

This new update obviously brings its share of novelties. Thus, players can discover and participate in three new public events “What Metal Are You Made Of”, “Brandy Jamboree” and “Eviction Notice”. The first event invites the Fallout 76 community to face deadly robots in the Rusty Eagles arena, while the second is more festive. Additionally, “Eviction Notice” will ask players to track down one of the Foundation settlers. For this, it will be necessary to eliminate many enemies.

Finally, we also note that Season 9 is now available on Fallout 76. It introduces a new SCORE table as well as various improvements for those with a Fallout 1st subscription, among others. Update Highlights

• Are you ready to fight it out? Join forces with the Steel Gladiators to show an army of Rusty Eagles robots “what metal you are made of” by participating in three rounds of fierce combat within the Metal Dome in the rugged Rockies.
• It’s gobbler season! You are cordially invited to the Sunday brothers’ cabin to take part in the Jamboree de l’Eau-de-vie. Repel an invasion of Gulpers, harvest their venom, and raise your glass of magical Quagmire brandy.
• Ciao, super mutants: Take up arms and deliver an “Eviction Notice” in person to a horde of super mutants who recently stormed a settler outpost near Foundation. Prepare for a fierce fight, and don’t forget to protect the radiation scrubber.
• Conquering the Isle of Terror: Earn SCORE points to rank up and collect loads of rewards in the Season 9 SCORE table, “Heart of Steel: A Terrifying Tale”.
• Improvements for Fallout 1st: members can collect bonus SCORE and complete bonus challenges to earn even more SCORE points during this season. They can also unlock additional rank rewards from the SCORE board
• Easily spot the bodies of your enemies: the new “Highlight Corpses” setting makes it easier and quicker to spot enemies you’ve eliminated to pick up your well-deserved loot.

Discover three new public events

Today’s update brings three new Public Events to Fallout 76: “What Metal Are You Made Of”, “Water of Life Jamboree”, and “Eviction Notice”. Check out a brief overview of each event below, and head in-game to participate!

Remark : We’ve temporarily adjusted the Public Event selection until June 28 to give you more opportunities to try out these three new Public Events over the next two weeks.

• Every hour on the hour, one of the events “What Metal Are You Made Of”, “Jamboree of Brandy” or “Eviction Notice” will be selected to begin.
• After 20 and 40 minutes after the start of the hour, an event will be randomly selected from all public events, including the three new events.
• After June 28, Public Events will once again be completely randomized every 20 minutes.

Show “What Metal Are You Made Of” in the arena

The Brotherhood of Steel has discovered that a group of Blood Eagles calling themselves the Rusty Eagles are collecting and storing robot spare parts in an effort to build an army of battle robots. Concerned about this threat that could hang over Appalachia, the scribe Valdez recently sent a field team to find out more. Now join forces with the “Steel Gladiators” and take on deadly robots in the Rusty Eagles arena.

• The Public Event “What Metal Are You Made Of” will appear on your map at the Metal Dome, north of Fort Atlas in the Rugged Rockies. Go there and talk to Conscript Pappas to start the event.
• Once the event begins, you will join three members of the Brotherhood field team to take on the fearsome Rusty Eagles machines in the arena.
  • In the company of the Steel Gladiators, you will fight the robots during three fierce rounds of struggle. Eliminate all enemies in one round to move on to the next.
  • Once you’ve won all rounds, you’ll earn loot and XP, and have a chance to get your hands on rare rewards, including blueprints to craft the new Fixer armor set.
  • Don’t miss the Golden Eyebot which is sure to show up. Try to destroy it to earn more caps.
• Make sure to keep your teammates alive, and be ready to use a Stimpak in case one gets knocked down. The more Steel Gladiators that survive the arena, the higher your chances of earning rare rewards.

Go give an eviction notice

Foundation settlers expand their territory by setting up camp in an explosion crater. They even managed to come up with a solution to mitigate the huge radiation from the crater with a machine they developed, the “Radiation Scrubber”. However, one of the settlers at the construction site radioed that they had been dislodged by a group of super mutants. Go to the crater to assess the situation, and eliminate any threat in the area so that work can resume.

• “Eviction Notice” is a new difficult public event for high-level characters. The event will appear on your map in the Rugged Rockies in a crater that you can find east of Foundation and south of Huntersville.
• Locate and activate the radiation scrubber inside the crater and get ready to do battle!
  • Defend the Radiation Scrubber and Settler Supply Crates from the onslaught of Super Mutants.
  • If the Radiation Scrubber takes too much damage, it will be disabled. Fix it ASAP, or the radiation levels in the area will become fatally dangerous.
  • Advice : Destroy Super Mutants’ meat sacks to deter them from hanging around. You and your event teammates can split up so that some players take care of destroying the meat bags while the others focus on defense.
• If you successfully drive the super mutants out of the crater, you’ll earn faction reputation with settlers, loot, and a chance to get one of six 3-star legendary weapons.

Take part in the brandy jamboree

You are invited to the Sunday brothers’ cabin to take part in the Jamboree de l’Eau-de-vie! The fate of the Sunday brothers is tragic, but their dedication to making the best brandy in all of Appalachia lives on thanks to Ned the Boiler, their old Mister Handy. But there is a small problem: the essential ingredient of the magic spirit of the Quagmire is none other than sucker venom, an ingredient that Ned is unable to obtain on his own. The Jamboree cannot do without it. Help Ned continue the work of the Sunday brothers by organizing a party that will attract as many animals as possible to the cabin.

• Meet Ned le Bouilleur de cru at the bar counter of the Sunday brothers’ cabin in Le Bourbier to kick off the festivities.
• Light the Jamboree bonfire and stay on your toes. Ferocious swallowers and other equally strange creatures will soon invade the area, attracted by all this animation.
  • Eliminate Gobblers and collect as much Acid Gobbler Venom as possible. As Ned the Boiler told you, pour the venom directly into the nearest bathtub to prepare a delicious batch of eau-de-vie.
  • Be sure to protect the three stills located around the cabin. If they were to be destroyed, the party would be completely ruined!
• If you manage to collect 30 Acid Gobbler Venom while keeping the stills intact, the Jamboree will be a real success.
  • The most talented distillers can even try to collect 60 Acid Gobbler Venom before the end of the event to get more rewards.
• Speaking of rewards, if you complete the Water of Life Jamboree, you’ll be able to get faction reputation from looters, loot, the “Slap Gulper”, a brand new melee weapon , as well as a few bottles of GobeurShine, which you can drink to increase the damage of the Slap Gobbler against Gobblers.
