In the absence of a proper announcement trailer, Amazon has shared the release date of the live-action series inspired by video games fallout.

The announcement was made on the evening of October 23, an important date in the universe created by Black Isle Studios in 1997 and then taken over by Bethesda in 2008. This date marks, in fact, in the dystopian timeline, the beginning of the Great War, which saw the Earth devastated and irradiated by waves of nuclear bombs.

That the fans of fallout mark their calendar on their Pip-Boy 3000, the live-action series adaptation of the games will debut on Prime Video sometime in 2024, and it might be worth the radioactive look!

Vault 33 opening in 2024 on Amazon Prime Video

It has now been three years since a television series in the universe of fallout is in preparation. Behind the project, we have Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, a duo already known for their work on the very solid series Westworld. We also have a certain Todd Howard, executive producer in his spare time when he is not busy with the management of Starfield. After long-term work, we finally know when this series will land on Prime Video: April 12, 2024!

Unfortunately, Amazon’s announcement of the release date was not accompanied by a trailer allowing you to actually see the series in action. At this level, for the moment we have to make do with the video broadcast on the Prime Video YouTube channel… eleven months ago.

A promising adaptation?

Even though we haven’t seen much of this famous series so far, the project is still intriguing. In addition to a solid directing and production team, we also have an attractive cast. We can notably cite Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight), Aaron Moten (Emancipation), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) or Sarita Choudhury (Homeland).

The synopsis of the series also intends to tell us an original story in the universe of fallout. This will in fact take place in Los Angeles, a city so far spared by video game bombs. As an entry (and exit) point, we will follow the adventures of residents of Vault 33 and their discovery of the world many years after the Great War. The story of the series will also be considered canon in the universe depicted until now almost exclusively by games.

Will this Amazon production be as much of a hit as the adaptation of The Last of Us, produced by HBO and also broadcast upon its release on Prime Video? Nothing is less certain, even if the project appears promising. Verdict on April 12, 2024, thumbs up and at a cautious distance from the nuclear mushroom cloud caused!
