After revealing a handful of images, Amazon has finally released a trailer for its series adaptation of the famous video game saga fallout of Bethesda.
Many adaptations of successful video games are being designed at Prime Video (and elsewhere). While waiting in particular for that of God of Warit’s finally time to set your eyes on the series fallout. It also seems that this first trailer has made fans and neophytes alike agree: this first glimpse of more than two minutes promises something solid. The wait until April 12 for the launch of the broadcast may now seem long.
An experienced team for an ambitious adaptation
Even if you should always be wary of trailers, the first images suggest that Amazon has put the means into its ambitions. The retro futuristic and post-apocalyptic visual atmosphere of the games, the costumes, the action and even the casting are there. Ella Purnell (Yellojackets) is headlining, alongside Walton Goggins (The Shield), Aaron Moten (Father Stu), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Chris Parnell (Rick & Morty) or, again, Michael Emerson (Person of Interest).
Behind the camera, we find the duo Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, to whom HBO owes the already robotic Westworld. Nolan will also direct the first three episodes, while the plot of the series will be canon to the games. Behind most of the recent opuses of fallout And game director on StarfieldTodd Howard is also executive producing the series.
Already references in spades
We are here 200 years after the nuclear war of 2077 which ravaged the world. Lucy, an inhabitant of fallout shelter 33 in Los Angeles, must venture outside and cross ravaged and irradiated landscapes. A whole violent and dangerous universe made up of survivors, mutants, monsters and other joys awaits him.
The most observant will have noticed the presence of different characters and elements of the games, in particular Fallout 3. A cyclops mutant, different monsters (bears, cockroaches, etc.), energy armor and even a ghoul are included. See you on April 12 for what we imagine will be a weekly broadcast.
