“Fallout” is a hit on Amazon Prime Video! So it’s no surprise that the streaming service has already confirmed a second season. But what can we expect in the new episodes? And when does season 2 come out?

“Fallout” Season 1 started and ended on April 11, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. While most streaming services now release event series weekly – or at least in blocks – Amazon showed all episodes in one go.
“Fallout” fans who don’t have extreme self-control will likely get through Season 1 very quickly and then wait for Season 2, which is already hinted at in the finale. But when and how will things continue?

Just one week after the first season of “Fallout” started, Amazon Prime Video was so satisfied with the success of the series that a second season was announced. “Fallout” is already Prime Video’s third most successful series; only “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has been more successful as a single season.
After Season 1 was filmed in New York, Utah, New Jersey and Namibia, the Amazon production will receive $25 million in tax breaks for Season 2 – assuming “Fallout” is filmed in California from now on. Of course, this deal made Amazon’s decision to continue Fallout even easier.
Thanks to the early extension, filming for season 2 could start in 2024. A release on Prime Video is not expected until 2026, after all, filming the first season took a total of 8 months and then a whole year passed before the start of the series in order to complete the effects.

Since “Fallout” Season 1 didn’t have a round ending, we already know roughly where the journey in the season is going: to New Vegas! Hank MacLean is finally on his way there and is pursued by the ghoul and Lucy. What exactly will await us in New Vegas is not yet clear, but other Vault-Tec employees and perhaps the ghoul’s family probably live there.
While we definitely get to know a new side of the wasteland, Maximus finds himself in a new situation after the season 1 finale. He is considered the murderer of Moldavians and therefore a hero of the Iron Brotherhood. After pretending to be a knight in season 1, he is now likely to become one – whether he wants to or not.
Meanwhile, Maximus has finally realized that the world is complicated and that rule by the Iron Brotherhood would have its downsides. In addition, Maximus will undoubtedly want to find Lucy, but he doesn’t know where she ended up.
And then of course there’s Norm MacLean, Lucy’s brother, who after his discovery in Vault 31 seems to have no choice but to freeze himself in a cryogenic chamber. Will he only wake up in the distant future or will he soon be awakened from cold sleep together with the Vault-Tec employees?
