Fallout: the creator of the game gives his opinion on the Amazon series

If Bethesda and Todd Howard are in the spotlight right now thanks to the series fallout on Amazon Prime Video, the franchise was not born from this studio nor from the imagination of this designer. The first Fallout, developed in 1997 by Black Isle Studioswas primarily created by Tim Cainstill active today on The Outer Worlds 2.

Now far from the franchise falloutin fact headed by Bethesda and Todd Howard since the third opus, Tim Cain still watched the seriesAmazon with attention and… he loved it! In a video published on Youtube (which contains quite a few spoilers over the eight episodes, be careful), the creator of fallout reviews the series at length, highlighting the great effort put into the props, acting and production, stating that “It was just surreal to see Fallout recreated in real life like that”.

Tim Cain adds that the writing is very accurate, stating that “it would have been very easy for them to accidentally leave in a tone that was too stupid”, without forgetting its accessible side for newbies to the franchise. The designer also appreciated the absence of a narrator to detail what the viewer can discover for themselves, and he had fun looking for the easter eggs in the plans, admitting that he “missed things” there are so many references.

The designer returns to the three main characters, explaining that they are three possible ways of playing a game fallout. Lucy is kind, Maximum a little selfish and The Ghoul downright nasty, between them they cover the entire spectrum of karma. Of course, everything is not perfect, but Tim Cain is well aware of the challenge of adapting such a video game universe with another media:

Everything is not going to be perfect, everything is not going to be like in the games because, guess what, it’s not a game. It’s a TV series, but the atmosphere was good and that’s what I I liked it.

Series fallout is therefore totally validated by Tim Cainthis will please producers and showrunners. As a reminder, a Season 2 has just been confirmed, but you will have to be patient before discovering it. Until then, you can watch the first season via Amazon Prime Videosubscription Prime cost €6.99 per month or €69.90 per year.
