How the pricing table works

It’s been a few years now since the “world of white” (household appliances) took on color. Manufacturers no longer hesitate to unveil black washing machines, stainless steel refrigerators, white hobs to best match kitchen furniture. The South Korean Samsung has even totally emphasized colorful household appliances with its Bespoke range, whose facades can be green, blue, pink… The extractor hoods had not yet been affected by this wave of personalization and, except for a few rare models, it was often necessary to be satisfied with a stainless steel or black model.

In an attempt to harmonize the kitchen a little more, Falmec therefore offers four colors for its Polar extractor hood. It is possible to get it in black, of course, and also in white. To these altogether classic shades are added metallic colors of gold and copper, the latter to recall the kitchen utensils of the same metal.

The Polar extractor hood takes the form of a simple vertical duct 35 cm in diameter. It is therefore intended to be installed above a 60 cm hob, even if it is quite possible to place two side by side to have a larger suction surface. The maximum suction capacities of these models do not exceed 490 m³/h which, theoretically, is sufficient for a kitchen of 20 m². Of course, an intensive mode is available, which allows the Polar Color to vacuum 800 m³/h for a limited time.

The on-board technologies of the Polar Color hoods remain fairly basic and the choice of suction power (three levels and an intensive mode, therefore) is made using simple physical keys. There is no question here of connecting to a hob to automatically configure the hood, pairing with a smartphone or voice controls. Surprisingly, even Falmec’s NRS system to limit noise emissions is not included, which explains the announced level of 61 dB (A) for maximum power, when NRS stamped hoods do not exceed 54 dB (HAS). Note that the sound level of the Polar reaches 67 dB (A) in intensive mode.

The Polar Color extractor hood is already available for 1199 €, regardless of the color chosen.
