Why did Lisa, the young jogger from Mayenne, lie about her disappearance? There is no shortage of hypotheses, including that of a love story.
Lisa, 17, confessed to lying about her disappearance. The teenager has since lived in her home, under police surveillance to ward off onlookers. His parents refuse all requests for interviews. His gesture still seems unexplained: was it a way to attract attention? The young girl explained to investigators suffer from “lack of recognition” by his relatives. A psychiatric expertise was even requested.
Interviewed by France Bleu, criminologist Alain Bauer advances a possible scenario: that of the romantic encounter. For him, people make up stories in the first place because “of a romantic encounter that we do not want to assume”. He also explains the vicious circle in which the teenager was caught: “A little lie becomes a big lie, a huge lie and we are faced with reality, and reality is what we are experiencing with this teenage girl.”.
Difficulty resuming a normal life
The young girl will undoubtedly have to explain herself at length, she who is questioned for “false denunciation to a judicial or administrative authority of facts constituting a crime or an offense leading to unnecessary research”. Alain Bauer recalls that the high school student will also have to carry the social weight of this story for a while.“She will carry this lie on her, in the eyes of others, the difficulty is that she was very active, voluntary firefighter, athletic and high school student very integrated in her establishment”, he explains. The instruction was passed to the students of her high school not to respond to external requests to protect her.
