Family books luxury holiday in Mallorca and encounters catastrophic conditions

A British family invested around 4,500 euros in a supposed luxury holiday in Mallorca. But on the island they experienced a bitter disappointment. As “The Independent” reports, the family encountered catastrophic conditions in their holiday accommodation.

According to “The Independent”, the father of the family, Mark Field, reported: “The rooms did not look like the photos online. You wouldn’t even put a dog in there.” They found dirty rooms with exposed cables and broken cupboards. The hotel restaurant was also dirty, which is why the family spent an additional 700 euros on a meal outside the hotel.

Tour operator regrets unsuccessful Mallorca holiday

The family then contacted the hotel and their tour operator. EasyJet offered a partial refund of £200 (€235), which Nadia accepted, although she wants to continue fighting. “It was a terrible experience,” Nadia told the Independent.

When asked, EasyJet told the media: “We regret the situation and are working closely with the hotel to ensure our customers are satisfied.”

Jennifer Bowditch also imagined her vacation to be different. The 41-year-old Brit suffered severe food poisoning while on vacation in a luxurious hotel in Antalya. After eating chicken at the hotel buffet, she suffered from “extreme diarrhea and nausea” and eventually fainted. The illness set in just a few hours after eating.
