Family defenestrated in Montreux: this intriguing inscription discovered at the entrance to their apartment

This Thursday, March 24, four members of the same French family died after jumping from the 7th floor of their building in Montreux, Switzerland. A drama that leaves many mysteries. But an inscription on their door intrigues the investigators and could lead them on a track.

An incomprehensible drama. Four French nationals from the same family have died this Thursday, March 24 after having fell from the seventh floor of a building, from the balcony of an apartment in Montreux, Switzerland. A fifth person, a 15-year-old boy who also fell, survived. He was again this weekend in a state “very serious”. The four deceased victims are a 40-year-old man, his 41-year-old wife, her twin sister and the couple’s 8-year-old daughter.

The circumstances of this case are still extremely murky, but according to investigations, it happened when gendarmes had gone to their home to execute a warrant to bring issued by the prefecture in connection with the home schooling of the eldest son. After knocking on the door, the officers heard voices asking them to introduce themselves. “After having announced themselves, the gendarmes then heard no more noise in the apartment“and left the scene, said a press release from the canton of Vaud. But in the meantime, the police had been called to the scene: five people had just fallen from the balcony located on the 7th floor of the building. collective was then quickly considered, because the presence of a third party in the apartment was ruled out.

But many elements intrigue the investigators. First of all the profile of the victims. The family had been living in Montreux since 2014. The father was graduated from the prestigious Ecole Polytechnique, according to his Linkedin profile. In addition, he had held several positions in various French ministries, notably at Bercy and the Quai d’Orsay. He then joined a Swiss company before setting up on his own. His partner was a dentist in Switzerland for a time, before his license to practice was withdrawn. Her twin sister was a brilliant ophthalmologist, still working at the Eye Clinic in Sion.

The apartment turned into a bunker

According to the testimonies of their neighbours, the family was very discreet and withdrawn, but always remained cordial. They could also be seen walking regularly along Lake Geneva, in amazing outfits. The two sisters wore old clothes, including a long green capewhile the father always went out in shorts, no matter the season.

On the door of their apartment was a piece of wood, on which was written the words “Jesus is the reason for the season”, in reference to a title of an evangelical Christian pop-rock song. Inside the home, whose windows had been caulked, many boxes were stored, giving the impression of having been transformed into a real bunker, according to the Swiss newspaper Le Temps. Many packages contained, among other things, medicines and tin cans. The trail of a drift survivalist plotter is therefore studied by the authorities. According to information from the JDD, the two sisters had cut ties with their family. For now, the mystery remains.
