The ARD television series "Family Dr. Kleist" does not get a tenth season, as "MDR Thuringia" reports. The rates are below average, the ARD justifies the end of the format, the report says.
Saying goodbye is not easy after so many years, MDR manager Jana Brandt is quoted as saying. Performers have "brought the turbulent stories about the family of doctors in Eisenach to life with a lot of creative enthusiasm".

"Family Dr. Kleist" played in the Thuringian city of Eisenach and has been in the lead role since 2004 with Francis Fulton-Smith (53). The doctor and family series was first broadcast in the main evening program, later in the evening program. The ninth season had been shown from September 2019.
