There was great concern on Wednesday about a 90-year-old Tyrolean who had not returned home from a hike. After relatives sounded the alarm, a search operation was launched. In the course of this, the elderly man was finally found injured.

Around 1 p.m., the 90-year-old from Tyrol hiked up the local mountain in Waidring (Kitzbühel district). He first marched to the Talsenalm and then continued in the direction of the Grünsattel. After the hiker, who was experienced and experienced according to the police, had not returned after the usual two hours, the relatives called the mountain rescue service. Impossible to get any further after a fall. They then started a large search operation. Hours later, around 6.30 p.m., the pensioner was finally found on the hiking trail to the Grünsattel. “He may have fallen on this way and sustained injuries,” the investigators say. The 90-year-old was finally rescued by the alarmed emergency doctor helicopter using a rope and then flown to the St. Johann district hospital. The Waidring mountain rescue team was on duty with 18 members and one vehicle. Support from the requested police helicopter and a police drone was no longer necessary, it was said in conclusion.
