Fantastic Four: the future Marvel film has chosen its Galactus

After finding its Silver Surfer in the person of Julia Garner, Marvel Studios have chosen an actor to play the big bad of the upcoming film: Fantastic Four. Ralph Ineson (The Curse: the origin, Game Of Thrones) will play Galactus in this feature film expected in theaters in 2025.

An antagonist equal to Thanos

Galactus is a character imagined by Stan Lee and the artist Jack Kirby, appearing for the first time in the comic book Fantastic Four #48 in 1966. His favorite pastime? Feeding on the energy of living planets, which earned it the nickname Devourer of Worlds.

Here is a major adversary, whose cosmic powers are reminiscent of those of the other great villains that the heroes of the MCU have had to face until now, such as Thanos and Kang the Conqueror.

Fantastic Four marks the arrival of this quartet of superheroes in the MCU. And if the details of the scenario are kept secret, we know that the story should take place in the 1960s.

A full cast?

In addition to Ralph Ineson, the webzine Deadline tells us that John Malkovich has joined the cast of Fantastic Four in a currently unknown role.

The actor, seen in Dangerous relationships and more recently in the Apple TV+ series The New Lookwill star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who lend their features to the four superheroes.

Directed by Matt Shakman (Wandavision) on a script by the trio Josh Friedman (Avatar 2), Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, Fantastic Four must begin filming this summer and is expected in theaters on July 23, 2025. In the meantime, most of the MCU films can be seen or rewatched on the Disney+ streaming platform.
