Even though far cry 6still recently filled with the extension Between two worlds, was not unanimous, the franchise is still on the rise. It is therefore no surprise that rumors from the corridors report this week thatUbisoft would work on a Far Cry 7, but also a special episode stand-alone in multiplayer.
It’s first Insider Gaming who publicly revealed his information. According to the often well-informed site, the solo experience would be called for the moment Project Blackbird and the multiplayer project Project Maverick. The shape of the latter would have changed several times in recent years, but the latest images seen by journalists would show wild Alaskan environments that we would survey in an exfiltration-based shooter (understand an Escape from Tarkov-like), with permanent death, resource management of our backpack, objectives to complete and more.
The two projects would have initially been thought of as a single dubbed game Project Talisker and led by Ubisoft Montrealbut would have been split into two entities following the departure of director Day Hay at Blizzard. Nothing sure, but since it shares the same initial concept, Far Cry 7 could therefore also take us to Alaska. Kotaku was able to confirm some of these statements: if he does not advance on anything on the content side, he affirms that Yves Guillemot mentioned the existence of the two titles in an internal e-mail a few days ago and thatthey wouldn’t use the engine either Dunyabut the Snowdrop Engine from The Division 2.
