There was a stark turnaround in “Bauer sucht Frau International”. Andreas from Guatemala deceived the production because he has been married for years. For this he is banned from the show. Now he is taking a stand himself.

The broadcast of “Bauer sucht Frau International” is overshadowed by an expulsion. In the RTL dome show offshoot, which is also available via RTL+, candidate Andreas from Guatemala was seen allegedly searching for his dream woman. That that wasn’t true.

“Farmer is looking for a wife” – candidate Andreas is married

During the broadcast, he took to his Instagram account and explained that he had been married “for 25 years.” RTL is now drawing conclusions and cutting the cocoa farmer completely from the show.

RTL and the production regret that Andreas’ behavior not only deceived them, but also the viewers and his applicants. Therefore, the broadcaster reacts immediately and farmer Andreas will no longer be part of the show,” said RTL in a statement on its website.

All episodes will be edited subsequently

That’s not all: When asked, the broadcaster “DWDL” confirmed that the candidate would no longer be seen on the show in the future. The episodes with him that have already been broadcast and available on RTL+ are also being edited. The scenes with Andreas are completely removed and instead the other farmers are given more space so that the episode length remains the same.

RTL apparently didn’t know

Candidate Andreas claimed on Instagram that both his applicants and the production in Guatemala found out about his marriage. However, the broadcaster denies this. The native of Westphalia had “confirmed several times that he was single and even guaranteed it contractually – a basic requirement for participation in the show. Even during filming, there were no signs that his information was not true,” it said . “Bauer sucht Frau” stands for “authentic stories, real feelings and the real search for love”.

Andreas does not deny that he cheated on his status in the questionnaire. However, in an interview with “Bild”, he now claims that he was initially not interested in taking part in the format: “I never actively applied to RTL as a candidate; they found me, selected me for the format and asked me. On At first I refused, but my friends persuaded me. Of course, I knew that they only take singles, so I stated single as my relationship status in the questionnaire.

His wife was enjoying a break at the lake

Through his TV appearance, he wanted to draw attention to his foundation promoting the indigenous population of Guatemala. So while he was doing questionable PR work, his wife was on vacation. “She was at Largo Atitlán,” he says, the second largest lake in the Central American country.

And while his bride relaxed in the beautiful landscape, he tested the two ladies-in-waiting, Elke and Petra, on their suitability for a relationship. A farce that caused storms of outrage. “Of course everyone is hitting on me now. But I was completely honest with the ladies on the first evening when the production company’s security was in bed. I explained my motives to them,” claims the cheating farmer.

Was his wife informed about the TV fake? Unknown. The couple met 25 years ago in the Ruhr area and even sealed their love again after a crisis with a second wedding. “Our first divorce was so amicable that we got back together a little later.”

The next episode of “Bauer sucht Frau International” can be seen on television on May 21st at 8:15 p.m.
