Fascinating Light – Klanglicht Festival in Graz has officially opened

The sun has set, the Klanglicht Festival 2022 in Graz has officially opened! We have the first impressions and what not to miss.

As soon as the vice-chancellor, governor, mayor and head of the Graz stage pushed the big red button together, it was official: Klanglicht 2022 was opened. Fascinating light and sound installations await you on three evenings, both on the Schloßberg and in Reininghaus . “In October 1673, the first Klanglicht took place in Graz: Leopold I celebrated his marriage to the Archduchess of Tyrol,” explained Bernhard Rinner, head of the organizer Bühnen Graz, at the opening in the Schloßberg restaurant. “People were asked to put lights in all the window shutters.” “We wanted to let people participate in the art in a way that was easy to access. Since then, Klanglicht has been a success story in public space,” said Rinner. He also responded to the criticism of holding a light festival in times of the energy crisis: “We are doing three evenings instead of four, and have avoided high-energy installations. We want to ask the visitors: Lights off, sound light on! We shouldn’t play each other off.”Light giants and fascinating projectionsWhat can visitors expect at Klanglicht 2022?
