Fashion must-haves
The 5 coolest pieces in the trend check

When it gets really dreary and cool again in November, boots, a coat – but also the eye-catcher dress for THAT wow moment – are a must.

Which fashionable it-pieces currently belong in every wardrobe? The GALA editorial team presents you with various new products every month – this time their five favorites from November.

November dances between the seasons: is it still autumn or already winter? Pumpkin spice latte or gingerbread hearts? It also presents a (bigger) challenge in terms of fashion. What do you wear when the temperatures are so low? What is stylish and passes the cold test? What might be practical to have everything safely packed in a rain shower? And: What gives you a WOW performance at the Christmas party that is guaranteed to make your eyes wide open? The GALA editors found out.

The perfect little pink one

Pink is THE color of the year, not least thanks to #barbiecore. For the holiday season, Nane, deputy editor-in-chief and head of fashion, has fallen in love with a very special model from Riani.

Trend part: Mini dress with feather details from Riani
Price: approx. 499 euros
Trend potential: 2023 is truly my fashion year! Because thanks to the crazy hype around it Barbiefilm, there was even more pink in the collections than in previous years. But a simple, pink dress? That’s a little too boring for me. I have a love for small but subtle details like the feathers on the sleeves of the Riani dress. The special collar and neckline also make this piece a real eye-catcher.
Can be combined with: Pumps, thigh highs, but also boots, for example. The dress is super versatile and can be styled for both the day and the evening. The feathers are also removable. I’m looking forward to wearing the dress on the holidays and of course to the team Christmas party – our motto: “Barbie Xmas”.

Space for all my belongings

Fashion and beauty editor Jessica tested Kapten & Son’s ‘Yoho’ backpack.

Trend part: Backpack “Yoho” by Kapten & Son
Price: approx. 130 euros
Trend potential: I have written a few short trips on my agenda for 2024, and the Yoho is perfect for that. Because this is where design comes into play
Outdoors: It is made from a water-repellent mix of ripstop, recycled PET and vegan tech material. The color-matched hardware creates a simple, stylish look. The backpack is comfortable thanks to special padding, a chest strap and additional side access to the main compartment. The storage space can be expanded from 24 to up to 30 liters.
Can be combined with: I prefer to combine the backpack with a light quilted jacket or a Parker. The rich forest green stands out especially on beige tones.

Just celebrate yourself

Trend part:Rugby Wool Sweatshirt” from Hope Stockholm
Price: 390 euros
Trend potential: At the moment I’m increasingly looking for brands that were previously unknown to me. Hope Stockholm is my latest discovery in the fashion world. The Swedish brand focuses on timeless pieces with a successful mix of clean cuts and attention to detail. The brand’s goal is to rethink classic norms and celebrate individual style. Therefore, each piece is unisex and has a double size tag. My choice fell on the “Rugby Wool Sweatshirt”. While classic polo shirts make me look sweet and slightly stuffy, thanks to its casual oversized fit, the shirt is the perfect mix of a timeless basic piece and a trendy it-piece.

Can be combined with: This piece combines my current favorite trends: “Sweater Weather” and the so-called “No Pants Season”. I can wear the oversized shirt comfortably Wear jeans, but also as a mini dress over tights. Chunky boots or loafers with a platform complete the look. But the sweater isn’t just visually impressive; I value high-quality materials, especially in winter. The sweater is made from 75% recycled wool, which you can both see and feel.

The Cozy One

Since editor Ilka is a real frostbite, she is testing a cozy teddy coat from bonprix this winter.

Trend part: Teddy fleece coat from bonprix
Price: about 60 euros
Trend potential: Max Mara put cozy teddy coats back on the map, and since then many labels have started with them
style experimented. The models are in demand again this year, but in longer versions and with a slim fit. The good thing about the models: Their design is timeless and they are really warm. It took me a long time to find a suitable model that would make me look fat. I found what I was looking for at bonprix. The material of the jacket is quite thin, but loses some insulation.
Can be combined with: Teddy coats are primarily intended for everyday wear. Sneakers, jeans and a knitted sweater are just the right partners. A knit dress is also a good choice. Festive looks don’t work as well with this piece, so I prefer to use classic wool coats.

Kitten heel elegance

These leather boots with a wide fit are comfortable and elegant.

Trend part: LeGer boots “Carin”
Price: 169 euros
Trend potential: Shoes with kitten heels, i.e. a heel that is a maximum of five centimeters, have been in trend since summer. What mules and slingbacks were in the warm season, boots are in autumn and winter. I really wanted elegant boots that didn’t look too artificial. The tip shouldn’t be too pointed for me and comfort is very important to me because the balls of my feet hurt very quickly. These leather boots are exactly the stylish look I was looking for. They give every outfit an elegant touch without looking too much. I can also stand/walk in it for a long time without pain.
Can be combined with: Short and long (woolen) dresses, skirts (with warm tights), but also wide trousers – then they look like ankle boots.
