Fashion revival: These trends of the noughties are celebrating their comeback

Comeback or gone? The hype for retro fashion is not over yet – after we have already grazed the 90s in fashion, fashionistas are now rushing to the noughties. Kylie Jenner and Co show us which trends of the 2000s we should now have on the fashion radar.

Mom was right: everything comes back in fashion. Whether shoulder pads, platform shoes or cropped tops: one fashion comeback chases the next. The fashion girls of this world are currently rushing to the trends of the noughties. We'll show you which cult items are particularly popular. Some iconic it pieces have the potential to sneak a place in our fashion hearts. Other parts, on the other hand, will disappear into the depths of our closets just as quickly as they came.

Tennis skirts

Brave pleated tennis skirts, white socks and filigree sneakers: What used to be worn only on the sports field became an absolute trend look in the noughties. Tennis skirts are quickly reminiscent of school uniforms à la Britney Spears in "Baby One More Time", but are much more sporty due to the solid color and material. Today, adult fashionistas such as blogger Franziska Albrecht also resort to fashion relics. In combination with a sweater and high-quality accessories such as gold jewelry and leather belt, the tennis skirt gets an adult update.

Trucker caps

Hand on heart: Who owned a Von Dutch cap in their teenage years? Back then, schoolyard it girls wore the pink camouflage variant in combination with large hoop earrings and tanning salon tan. That was sooo cool – #NOT. When Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were wearing their trucker caps up and down, Kylie Jenner was just three years old. Nevertheless, it is she who makes the fashion sin of yore back in vogue.

Those who kept the it-piece from back then can look forward to it now, because the gaudy headgear is offered for a lot of money on Ebay and Co. For our part, we are still skeptical. If so, today we prefer to go for the subtle version in black or white. You don't have to follow every trend …

Nicki suits

Anyone who thought it couldn't get any worse up until this point will be taught better: Probably the biggest (and by the way worst) trend of the 2000s is currently the hottest fashion shit – at least when it comes to Hailey Bieber. The model currently likes to wear terry tracksuits, preferably in pink or bright pink. Other fashionistas are driving the trend even further and are resorting to Juicy Couture velvet suits, which we recently marveled at on Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton.

Hailey is known for her weakness for retro styles and likes to use iconic pieces from the noughties. But nicki suits? Really now?! We are sure: today, as then, the trend will have the survival time of a mayfly.

Did you enjoy the fashionable journey through time and could a trend look from the 2000s convince you? In any case, we are excited to see which fashion comebacks will keep us busy.
