For many curvy women, the unspoken rules of fashion still apply to wear black and baggy clothing. Do you dare to try something new? Just don’t! We disagree and finally do away with the outdated fashion rules.

If we have learned one thing in recent years, it is that women with curves can handle their bodies just as proudly and confidently as women with supposedly dream dimensions. Perfect has long ceased to exist and what feels good is allowed – this is especially true when it comes to fashion. Gone are the days when plump women only dared to go outside in black sackcloths. It’s high time to break THESE six fashion rules!

1. Wear black

Black is great – no question about it! But let’s be honest: Who wants to be out and about in the all-black look all the time in summer when you can also have a strong yellow or bright red? It is true that dark colors make you slim and skilfully conceal one or the other pillow. But if the cut of your favorite dress flatters your curves and just looks great on you, bright wow colors are just the right choice.

2. Crop tops are only for the super skinny

Total nonsense! With the current omnipresent crop-free trend, the combination counts. Ever thought of wearing the crop top with a high-cut pencil skirt? Or go for the combination of high-waist trousers and a long vest? The only important thing is that the waistband of your skirt or trousers is cut high enough (ideally at the waist). In this way you stretch the silhouette and can still hide a small tummy.

3. The further the better

Interestingly, it’s the other way around. Baggy cut garments destroy any silhouette and are not particularly beneficial for curvy women. It is much more important to emphasize your chocolate side. Do you have a small waist? Put them in the limelight with a nice belt or an A-line dress. Are you proud of your legs? Then a pencil skirt or narrow pants can look totally sexy.

4. Apply pattern

The same applies here: If the cut is right, you don’t have to go without a pattern. Summer flowers or cool checks – whatever you like is allowed! And if you want to be on the safe side: Simply combine a pattern piece into a plain color – this will bring the necessary calm to your look and also set a nice focus.

5. No shorts from size 38

Even with a clothing size over 38, shorts can look cool and casual. Are your legs a little more sturdy? Then take a longer model and combine it with a long vest or cardigan. High sandals or shoes with wedge heels also stretch optically and conjure up endless legs.

6. Bikinis are a no-go

When you feel comfortable in your body, show it! Why should you choose a staid swimsuit and long swim shorts if you are proud of your curves? Anyone who feels sexy and is at peace with themselves and their body also looks great in a bikini. And let’s be honest: Feminine curves look a lot more than thin rattling frames, right?
