In our eyes there is currently no more beautiful piece of clothing that represents the awakening of spring as well as the rainbow sweater. We'll tell you how to best combine it and how you can enjoy the trend piece for a long time.
Year after year there is something liberating when the thick winter sweaters together with the down jackets and lined boots wander into the basement. We would love to do a little dance of joy. Because that means that spring is just around the corner, the days are getting longer and the temperatures are rising.
As of now, thinner sweaters, trousers, 7/8 length jeans and sneakers are moving into our wardrobe. In addition, a very special it-piece will be added this spring: the rainbow sweater. Because it catapults itself not only with its bright colors to the number one mood brightener of the season, but is also a real all-round talent in terms of styling.
Rainbow sweaters: this is how we style the spring it-piece in a casual way
Simple jeans (also in white) and sporty sneakers are the perfect choice for keeping the sweater in focus. So that your outfit doesn't make you appear younger unintentionally (yes, a rainbow sweater can otherwise easily give the impression of being a child), we rely on cool accessories such as chunky bracelets. Boyfriend jeans or jeans with a used look also give the sweater a coolness upgrade.
So we give the it-piece an elegant touch
For an elegant touch, we rely on the combination with a pleated skirt in delicate tones, such as metallic pink or a light beige. If that seems too boring for you, you can also mix spring-like floral patterns with the rainbow sweater. The result: ultra-feminine and ultra-stylish! And if you want to really score in the style duel, give the sweater a boyfriend collar in white (or wear a white blouse with an eye-catching collar underneath). You can easily combine two of the hottest spring trends in 2021.
A variant: the rainbow cardigan
For the onion locomotive, the cardigan in rainbow design is also a great eye-catcher for spring. It can be perfectly combined over a blouse dress or with a shirt and jeans. The cardigan also looks particularly nice with straight-cut white jeans. The more daring among us wear the cardigan over a jumpsuit (preferably in pastel shades). Gold jewelry, such as smaller hoop earrings with or without pearls, enhance the look perfectly.
Correct material + gentle care
Is a sweater the same as a sweater? Nothing! The different colors of rainbow sweaters or cardigans can cause them to look washed out after a few months. To prevent this from happening, the quality of the sweater is important. Natural fibers such as cotton are particularly suitable because they are not only skin-friendly, but also easy to clean and remove dirt. Man-made fibers such as viscose, modal, cupro or lyocell also have the advantage that they are easy to wash and dry.
What else do you have to consider so that you can enjoy your it-piece for a long time? It is best to wash the sweater or cardigan by hand first to see whether the trend pieces rub off. If not, they can be turned inside out in the washing machine along with the rest of the colored laundry and washed at 30-40 degrees with a low spin speed.
