Do you fluctuate between two sizes? Then always pick the bigger number from now on – at least if you have one of these five items of clothing in your hand.

Shopping can be nerve-wracking at times. You go to the store, fight your way to your favorite item and suddenly find yourself in the locker room, completely at a loss. Said favorite piece is a fashionable hit – but in what size? Especially those of us who often fluctuate between two sizes know the dilemma: size A is tight, but actually fits quite well. But size B is also great and would be a little more relaxed in contrast to A?

We feel you! And that’s exactly why you should prick up your ears now. There are clothes that make this shopping thriller superfluous, because you’d better buy them one size bigger.

Pants trend 2020: Front-Seam-Jeams

1. T-shirts

T-shirts are one of the basics that we should all have in our closets. Whether with jeans or a midi skirt – the simple cotton shirt is probably the most loyal companion in our wardrobe. Speaking of cotton: The material provides us with the first reason why we should always shop one size bigger for T-shirts. In the washing machine and especially afterwards in the dryer, our favorite part often shrinks by 20 percent – argh! In this case, prevention is worth its weight in gold.

In addition, oversize shirts look sooo much cooler than their squeaky counterparts and give every look a casual upgrade in no time at all. If you are not completely convinced by now, then let me tell you that the loose cut will not make you sweat so quickly, so you do not have to worry about unsightly sweat stains.

2. Coats

Mama always knew – and we finally believe it too: Coats should always be bought a little bigger. Why? Because there is nothing more annoying than having to squeeze into your coat in winter because the cozy wool sweater hardly has space in it. Freedom of movement is zero!

Apart from the style factor, your coat should always offer enough space so that the air can circulate well. This is the only way to keep your favorite piece cozy and warm.

3. Wool sweater

And because we have just touched on the topic of wool sweaters – here too the motto is: buy at least (!) One size larger. Wool fibers tend to shrink in the washing machine, making your favorite sweater unwearable in minutes. You probably know it: After washing, the sleeves of the sweater suddenly don’t even reach the wrists and the basic length is dangerously cropped. A nightmare!

By the way: Like the T-shirt, oversized wool sweaters also make our fashion hearts beat faster. A loosely cut model looks super stylish, especially with skinny jeans.

4. Shirts

We can’t say it enough: oversize is a trend! Especially shirts that at first glance look like you’ve stolen them from your boyfriend’s closet make your look irresistible. Casually unbuttoned, they look so much cooler (and hotter!) With jeans than the more well-behaved variant with an extra slim waist.

Be careful how you wash your shirt, though. Although it does not shrink as quickly as shirts and sweaters, it can still happen that you lose a millimeter or two of sleeves, collars and the like after the wash cycle.

5. Sweatpants

Now butter with the fish: Yeah, we love to really dress up. Nevertheless, sometimes it just needs to be comfortable. Especially in the evenings on the sofa at home, nothing should be squeezed, cut or pinched. That’s why jogging pants always end up one size bigger in our shopping bag. Add an oversize T-shirt – et voilà, the relaxed evening can come at home.

By the way: Jogging pants not only sweeten our chill days at home. In combination with a cool shirt, for example, the athleisure look is immediately suitable for everyday use.
