Fashion trend: the American neckline

This summer, you will necessarily fall for the American neckline … if you haven't already! A comeback that we owe in particular to the Duchess of Sussex, who brought this trend back to the forefront of the fashion scene when she married Prince Harry.

On May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left Windsor Castle to join Frogmore House, the place where Prince Charles organized a private reception on the occasion of their union. For this second official appearance, the Duchess of Sussex had then swapped her sumptuous wedding dress for a second white dress that was less bulky but very chic. Signed Stella McCartney, it perfectly highlighted the silhouette of the American actress with a small detail that made all the difference: the American neckline. A fashion trend that we have not seen on the front of the stage since our college years and which, we must admit, is pretty hot!

How to wear the American neckline as well as Meghan Markle?

Recognizable by its full neckline and tight collar at the throat, the American neckline has the gift of highlighting the arms and shoulders. Small flat: the generous breasts can feel cramped. If this is your case, we advise you to opt instead for a wispy and non-tight fabric. Today, the American neckline can be used as a dress but also as a top!

With jeans, a skirt or shorts, the American neckline tops offer an extremely elegant look to the silhouettes. Ditto for the dress, which can be worn both short and long and can be worn at the beach or in the evening with a pair of heeled sandals. To highlight this pretty high collar, style your hair in a ponytail or chignon and accessorize it all with an impressive pair of earrings. Sensation guaranteed!
