What is it about ?
Noah must leave his town, his boyfriend and his friends to move into the mansion of William Leister, his mother’s new and wealthy husband. Seventeen-year-old, proud and independent, Noah meets Nick, her new half-brother, and their strong personalities collide from the start. Noah soon discovers that behind the image of a model son, Nick hides a life of fighting, gambling and illegal car racing.
Despite the abyss that separates them, both begin to feel an irresistible attraction that will soon turn into fire and mad passion. Neither permanent rivalry nor opposition from those around them can prevent them from falling secretly and madly in love. But Nick’s turbulent present and Noah’s stormy past will test their lives and their forbidden love.

Attention fans of After and other hot teenage romances, Prime Video has just released a new adaptation of books in the same genre that is all the rage with young adults.
Based on the novel by Mercedes Ron, À contre-sens follows the complex relationship between Noah, played by Nicole Wallace (Skam España), and Nick, played by Gabriel Guevara (Mañana es hoy).

After his mother’s remarriage, Noah must leave his former life and follow her with his stepfather and brother-in-law Nick. If Noah and Nick hate each other at first, they will quickly be attracted to each other. They discover wounds from the past and a common passion for car racing.
Yes, a little Fast and Furious touch slips into Against the grain as Nick is the leader of a gang that takes part in urban races and underground fights. The young man hides his secret behind the image of a model son.
For his part, Noah has a rebellious spirit but is tortured by the threat of a violent father, played by Ivan Massagué (the hero of the Spanish film The Platform, which was a hit on Netflix), who has just been released from prison and who tries to get his hands on it.

The budding and hidden romance between Noah and Nick is put to the test when the bad boy’s dark side and Noah’s dangerous family history stir up trouble. They will have to join forces, protect their feelings and prove their driving skills to get out of it and hope to live their union peacefully.

And good news for fans, the original novel is part of a trilogy. If success is there for À contre-sens, there is no doubt that the sequels will be adapted into films.
