In “Hobbs & Shaw”, the spin-off of the “Fast & Furious” saga broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1, there was a nod to another Jason Statham film. Have you spotted it?

Between the cameos and the action scenes with cartoonish accents, Hobbs & Shaw is not lacking in surprises. But we didn’t necessarily expect the Fast & Furious spin-off to reference the career of one of its stars. Yet this is what happens, in the course of a dialogue, when Jason Statham takes Dwayne Johnson and Vanessa Kirby to his lair/garage.
After pointing out that Deckard Shaw necessarily had something to compensate for in view of the cars lined up on the scene, Luke Hobbs stops on a Mini, which he considers much more suitable for the size of his partner. What the principal concerned justifies by saying that it was for the needs of a coup in Italy.
A “Italian jobs”, we hear in the VO. Like the original title of Italian Holdup, to which Hobbs & Shaw gives a funny nod. Released in 2003, this remake of L’Or se barre is particularly remembered for its pursuit in a Mini in the streets of Los Angeles, when the heroes try to escape Edward Norton with the loot that the latter had stolen from them.
