Fast & Furious: The action series ends with the eleventh film

Justin Lin is supposed to close the "Fast & Furious" series with parts ten and eleven. The director is also responsible for the ninth part.

The auto action is coming to an end: As the US industry magazine "Deadline" reports, "Fast & Furious" will conclude with parts ten and eleven. Director Justin Lin (49, "Star Trek Beyond") is set for both films. Fans are currently waiting for the cinema premiere of "Fast & Furious 9", which is due to open on May 27, 2021, around 20 years after the first film. With Lin, Universal Pictures relies on an experienced man: the director is responsible for the ninth and four other parts of the series.

Leading actor Vin Diesel (53) had already hinted in February 2020 that the franchise could end with two more films and thus a two-part finale, citing the "Avengers" series as a model. The success story began in 2001 with "The Fast and the Furious". The nine films to date, including the spin-off "Hobbs & Shaw", have grossed over 5.9 billion US dollars worldwide. The most successful film in the series to date is "Fast & Furious 7" (2015), in which Paul Walker (1973-2013) aka Brian O'Conner, who died in a car accident, can be seen for the last time.

Cast of "Fast & Furious 9" already known

In part nine, the start of which had to be postponed by a whole year due to the corona pandemic, other well-known faces return in addition to the stars of the action series, such as Vin Diesel as Dominic "Dom" Toretto and Michelle Rodriguez (42) as Letty Ortiz back. Charlize Theron (45) as Cipher and Dame Helen Mirren (75) as Magdalene Shaw will be seen again. US wrestler John Cena (43) is involved as Dom's brother Jacob Toretto and rapper Cardi B (28) also appears in the flick.

There will also be a second part of the spin-off "Hobbs & Shaw". The leading roles in "Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw" from 2019 are played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (48) aka Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham (53) aka Deckard Shaw.
