Fast Japanese – Yamaha MT-10: Hypernaked with more power & high-tech

Yamaha makes the MT-10 steam. In the course of the Euro 5 conversion, your 998 cc four-cylinder will not only be cleaner, but also more powerful.

Instead of 160 hp, the pilot will hunt on 166 horses across the asphalt in the future. The torque curve between 4000 and 8000 tours has been optimized, the maximum of 112 Newton meters (plus one Nm) is at 9000 tours. The engine has become more economical and emits its exhaust gases as standard via a titanium exhaust, which was previously offered as an option. The completely new intake system should provide a distinctive sound and the new double LED headlights for better light output. The front with the shorter nose is even more compact for model year 2022, the ergonomic triangle made up of handlebars, seat and footrest has been slightly changed. The sensitivity of the throttle response can now be adjusted in four stages regardless of the selected driving mode. Yamaha has also refined the suspension. All electronic driving aids have been adapted to the latest evolutionary stages. The front brake with two 320 mm discs and radially screwed four-piston calipers corresponds to that of the R1. The brake master cylinder from Brembo is new. A variable speed limiter keeps the cockiness in check on the country road and lets one or the other possible speed trap run into nothing. The quickshifter with blipper function is also standard. The traction control now works depending on the lean angle using the data from the 6-axis sensor cluster. The 4.2-inch TFT display is derived from the R1 and can be individually configured. The new Yamaha MT-10 will go on sale in February.
