The deployment of these new logos should anyway materialize shortly. The USB-IF indeed plans to come into force this quarter, for a start of display on the products concerned by the end of the year. We also learn that the USB-IF will not give a name to the new USB 4 standard. The latter will be satisfied with this new naming system instead.
Finally, note that these changes appear at the right time, as the European Parliament approved this Tuesday, October 4 the new legislation on the universal charger. This legislation makes USB-C the connector required for 14 product categories within the EU.
