Fatal accident in “What have we all done to the good Lord?” : an alcoholic driver indicted: Current Woman The MAG


A terrible drama occurred on the evening of Friday, April 23, 2021: three members of the film crew What have we all done to the good Lord? died in a car accident. The fatal collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. at a crossroads in Pouant, in the Vienne department. A driver, alone at the wheel, was trying to overtake when he collided with a car, with four machinists from the film on board. The shooting of this third opus – following the immense successes What have we done to the good Lord? (12 million spectators in 2014) and What have we done to the good Lord? (6.7 million spectators in 2019) – had started in the morning a few kilometers away, in the town of Châtellerault, before being suspended until further notice. The film, which will feature the 40 years of marriage between Claude and Marie Verneuil (played by Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby), should be released in theaters on October 13.

An investigation opened for manslaughter with aggravating circumstance

On Monday April 26, 2021, the Poitiers public prosecutor’s office provided new information to Agence France-Presse regarding the investigation of this tragic accident. While the fourth member of the film crew is still in serious condition at Poitiers hospital, the other driver involved has been indicted. The man in his thirties, whose criminal record is blank, is said to have driven over the authorized speed limit and under the influence of alcohol. Toxicological analyzes revealed an alcohol level of 0.8 grams per liter of blood. The prosecution requested the placement under judicial supervision of the driver involved. It would have been so indicted following the opening of a judicial investigation for manslaughter with aggravating circumstance, as a source told an AFP correspondent. The prosecution also indicated that the film crew’s vehicle could have burned a give way.
