A 17-year-old teenager was imprisoned for the assassination of Kendy, 15, killed Monday evening with a stab during a brawl between rival gangs in the communes of Domont and Ezanville, in Val d’Oise, said this Saturday the Pontoise prosecutor. “The alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing was indicted for murder and imprisoned,” declared Pierre Sennès.

Kendy, living in Ezanville, was returning home from high school when he was attacked by young people from Domont. The latter had come to take revenge after a fight last week, according to the story given to the press by the mayor of Ezanville, Éric Battaglia (DVD).

Rivalries between neighborhoods

Monday around 6 p.m., “a brawl involving around twenty people occurred in the town of Domont”, reported the Pontoise public prosecutor in a press release on Tuesday. “When the gendarmes arrived on site, a few minutes after the fight broke out, the group of individuals fled.”

Rivalries between the Rû-de-Vaux district (Ezanville), where Kendy comes from, and that of the Cité de la Gare in Domont have lasted for around twenty years, according to the municipality. After the events, a large force of law enforcement (gendarmes and police officers) was deployed in the area and in the neighborhoods concerned. Various listening cells for adults and students – the establishment has 1,400 – have been set up at the high school attended by the victim, according to the Versailles rectorate.
