Fatal mishap – forgotten handbrake: small truck rolled in Salzach

A serious mishap happened to an employee of a pharmaceutical sales company in Hallein on Tuesday: After parking his van, the man forgot to put on the handbrake and engage a gear. He had to watch the small truck roll into the Salzach.

The company vehicle began to roll on the slightly sloping terrain, the police report. After 15 meters it fell over the embankment into the Salzach. The currently heavily water-bearing river swept the transporter away. Despite the efforts of the volunteer fire brigade and the professional fire brigade, the vehicle has not yet been recovered. Operations are scheduled to continue on Wednesday.
