It’s a story with many twists and turns. This Friday, January 19, as reported The Daily Mailthe prosecutor in charge of the investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred on the set of the film Rustin October 2021, announced that Alec Baldwin is once again charged with manslaughter. Last April, the actor’s lawyers assured that the proceedings against Hailey Bieber’s uncle, who had since been placed under judicial supervision and who had pleaded not guilty, were going to be abandoned. However, in October, the new conclusions of the investigation had, in fact, revealed that the actor could be the subject of indictments again.
As a reminder, October 21, 2021, on the set of the feature film RustAlec Baldwin had accidentally shot on the film’s director, Joel Souza, and on the director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, who died of her injuries. The actor then used a prop revolver from the film which was supposed to be loaded only with blank bullets, but which actually contained real cartridges.

Alec Baldwin: why is he charged again?
On October 17, prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis, in charge of the case, explained why Alec Baldwin could be charged again: “After an extensive investigation over the past few months, “New facts have emerged that we believe demonstrate Mr. Baldwin’s criminal culpability in the death of Halyna Hutchins and the shooting of Joel Souza.”. Indeed, while the actor has affirmed, since the beginning of the investigation, that he never pulled the trigger, ballistics experts question his words and assure that Ireland Baldwin’s father must have exert any pressure on the trigger to engage the mechanism. A new blow for the star of Pearl Harbor who thought he was out of the woods and had since resumed filming Rust. The star has not yet spoken following the announcement of his new indictment for involuntary homicide.
