Fathers embarrass their children up to 22 times while on vacation, a survey has found. We reveal the top 20 most embarrassing situations with dads. Do you know that too?

On average, fathers commit 22 faux pas during a week-long family vacation, which their children find really embarrassing. This was the result of a survey with 1000 participants. Awkward behaviors include: Bad jokes, awful dancing, or snoring by the pool. Dads who wear socks with sandals, complain loudly about things and take pictures all the time are also not welcome.
The survey was commissioned by easyJet Holidays, which has opened its own hotel Dad’s Club in Benalmádena, Spain.
Humiliating moments that will be remembered
54 percent of teens surveyed said their father embarrasses them on vacation. Almost half of the teens, 43 percent, said they couldn’t remember any vacation without a humiliating moment caused by their father. And almost a quarter of those surveyed had even tried to escape from vacation to avoid the embarrassing situations. From the perspective of the offspring, intolerable behavior includes:
- Inappropriate clothing for her age
- Eating greedily over the buffet
- Use selfie sticks
- Getting up extra early to reserve sunbeds

Incidentally, in the survey, a good third of the fathers admitted to intentionally humiliating their children, and almost half considered it their duty to do so on vacation.
The survey also came to a clear conclusion as to which type of vacation is most predestined for embarrassing father moments, so-called “dadbarrassments”. Beach holidays abroad top the list at 51 percent, followed by short breaks at 29 percent and city breaks at 22 percent.
