Next, please: According to media information, the Belgian Vincent Kompany has come into focus in the seemingly endless search for a coach by the German soccer record champions Bayern Munich. Talks with the former Bundesliga player from Hamburger SV are said to have already taken place, reports Sky. Kompany has been the coach of Burnley FC since 2022 and was initially promoted, but was relegated again this season. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kompany is also one of Bayern’s candidates.
The 38-year-old Kompany played as a defender in Hamburg from 2006 to 2008. After retiring from his hometown at RSC Anderlecht, he took over as coach at the club before moving to Burnley in England. On the island he was successful as a player for Manchester City and won the championship four times, and he played 89 international matches for the Belgian national team. Kompany still has a contract at Burnley until 2028.
They have recently received a lot of rejections and are still looking for a successor for Thomas Tuchel, who coached his last game on the Munich bench in the 4-2 defeat at TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.
