“We actually agree with Ardon Jashari,” said FCB Board President David Degen on Sunday. The Basel team would like to sign the exceptional talent from Lucerne, and the 20-year-old himself also wants to switch to the Rheinknie. Only: FC Luzern, where Jashari still has a contract until 2026, has been closed so far.

Apparently, FCB initially negotiated directly with the FCL captain, but ignored the Swiss club leadership. When the Basel team then wanted to talk to the FCL, they blocked it.

If the FCL gets the money I’m worth, then they should let me go.

On the one hand, the “Bebbi” approach could not have been well received, on the other hand, FCL sports director Remo Meyer made it clear earlier that Jashari did not want to be transferred within the Super League.

Now the national player reported in an interview with the Lucerne newspaper in this transfer posse on Wednesday, however, have their say. “I demand that those responsible negotiate with FCB,” said the 20-year-old. From the interview it is clear that the young jewel absolutely wants to go to red and blue. Nothing is better than the opportunities that Basel offered him as a whole. “If the FCL gets the money I’m worth, then I should be let go,” Jashari continued.

FCL has not yet spoken

There is apparently a transfer fee of 5 million francs in the room, which would be a record for a player change within Switzerland. In Basel, where Zeki Amdouni has just switched to Burnley for allegedly 18 million francs, money should not be too tight at the moment. The question now is whether the FCL will comply with the wishes and now public demands of its captain. So far, the club leadership has remained quiet.
