In addition to Saturday’s triumph in the derby against GC (2: 1), Canepa is delighted by something else: the return of the fans. “I had a couple of people, including players, who said that their hair almost went up when they suddenly saw this full stadium before the match,” Canepa said a little more than twelve hours later in Blick Kick. “I really don’t know when we last had so many viewers.”
Canepa speaks of a friendly and positive mood and has to admit: “It’s just a different kind of football when there are spectators in the stadium.”
The return of the fan curves is not so natural. After all, they stayed away from both Zurich clubs until before the derby. The identity comparison at the entrance, which it needs to check the Covid certificate, pisses them off. Personalized tickets and a ban on guest fans, as in Sion, all the more so.
The Bändeli system
The first meetings have already taken place between the KKJPD (Conference of Cantonal Justice and Police Directors) and the League, at which the authorities demanded that the measures be maintained after the pandemic. Canepa, who is in an exchange with the KKJPD, says: “I can confirm that certain exponents of the KKJPD have said that they want to continue the Covid measures.” The league then “vehemently opposed it”, the FCZ president clarifies and adds: “In addition, we at FC Zurich would not have allowed personalized tickets or a ban on visiting fans. That’s absurd. “
Thanks to the new Bändeli system, in which the fan can, among other things, carry out the identity check for the certificate control in the FCZ Museum and thus receive a Bändeli with which he or she can get into the stadium on match day without having to show the ID at the Letzi entrance , the south curve appeared again in large numbers on Saturday. Likewise the GC fan curve.
Fans must be treated fairly
Would the FCZ president prefer to show his ID in advance? “No, I don’t quite see why you have to show your ID at all.” In any case, he would like to take away the fear of the fans that the measures could be maintained after the pandemic. “We’re still in Switzerland here. Not just anybody can determine anything. We, the league and the clubs, also have a certain influence. ”
Most fans end up behaving absolutely correctly. “You want to punish everyone else for a few idiots, that just doesn’t work.” Individuals should be taken out and punished, “but the rest must be treated decently and fairly.”
