FDE: Gazonor signs an “Impulse” ESG loan with Arkéa Banque Entreprises et Institutionnels – 11/28/2023 at 6:14 p.m.

(AOF) – FDE (Française de l’Energie), producer of energy with a negative carbon footprint, announces that its subsidiary Gazonor has just benefited from the support of Arkéa Banque Entreprises et Institutionnels, a subsidiary of the Crédit Mutuel Arkéa group, with a loan “Impulse” ESG of 5.8 million euros. This loan will allow FDE to strengthen the activity of its subsidiary via the refinancing of 4 cogeneration units in Lens and Avion with a total power of 6 MW, the funds of which can be deployed by the Group for its growth.

This credit offer also allows the Group to benefit from a reduction in the cost of borrowing, despite a context of sustained interest rates. This bonus is partly financed by the “Kéréa Terme Impulse” investment support for which investment clients are looking for yield, security and an ESG commitment.

Gazonor is the main producer of gas and green electricity from mine gas in France and Belgium. Via its 4 sites dedicated to the capture of mining gas and the production of electricity, the Group uses short circuits to recycle this fatal gas in the former mining basins of Hauts-de-France.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
