(CercleFinance.com) – La Française des Jeux (FDJ) publishes a current EBITDA of 675 million euros for the year 2023, i.e. a margin of 25.1% for a turnover of 2.62 billion , up 6.5% (+2.8% on a comparable basis).
The margin rate was ‘supported by the exceptional level of sporting results very favorable to the operator at the end of the year and a recovery of provisions relating to disputes with former broker-agents’, elements without which it would emerge at 24.3%.
The group also highlights that turnover from its online gambling activity increased significantly, by 18.8% (+13.9% on a comparable basis), to represent nearly 13% of the total compared to 11% in 2022.
At the end of December 2023, after in particular the payment of ZEturf and Premier Lotteries Ireland, the net cash surplus of the FDJ stood at 671 million euros, compared to 900 million a year previously.
