February patch changes for FNAF: Security Breach


After a long wait, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach was invited last December. Despite several delays, players could quickly sense the impossible goal of the pre-holiday release. Bugs, ridiculous performance and whole sections of gameplay silenced in the game files, Steel Wool Studios today offers a first big patch patch problems of the opus.

The team had also planned availability around the beginning of mid-February, turning into an “in-extremis” February. General changes

  • Fazerblaster nerf : The toy blocks STAFF animatronics and robots for less time
  • STAFF robots send a brighter light signal with their flashlight.
  • Princess Quest 3: The speed of conveyor belts is reduced.
  • Nvidia DLSS is now available on PC as a full-fledged option.
  • Final boss: The difficulty is increased and made more “fair”
  • A backup station, usable after 6AM, is added in the Main Hall (Atrium)
  • The maximum number of manual saves is increased to 50.
  • It is now possible to “skip” all cutscenes
  • Added a loading screen when playing a minigame, entering Arcades areas, and if it takes too long to load between two areas.
  • The icon of the messages present in the bags is updated.
  • The button during the section in the kitchens (Route Chica) is better highlighted
  • Passages requiring Chica’s voice transcoder now have a corresponding panel
  • Hiding places now litter the Lobby.
  • Some locations on the map are better indicated (Panels, Messages) between several areas
  • On Steam, the game loses 3GB in weight.
  • On PS4, the light reflections correspond to the options chosen.

Bugfixes (all platforms)

This is the bulk of the work of this February patch for Security Breach. The Steel Wool Studios team notes that not all of the changes planned at the base are in the list below. Also, in order to concentrate information and improve readability, some change notes have been merged.

  • It is no longer possible to cheat by setting the clock to 5AM (Roxy’s Raceway)
  • Jumping while hiding no longer unloads the map
  • On PS4, the game no longer crashes during mini-games and is graphically more faithful to other versions.
  • Freddy no longer allows you to pass through doors or walls
  • It is no longer possible to call Freddy during certain sequences (Boss fights in particular)
  • During the final fight, the Boss could become invulnerable for no reason. It is also correctly possible to reload Freddy during this sequence.
  • STAFF Bots no longer see Gregory inside hideouts
  • Vanny can no longer be ignored when first meeting her
  • Improved collisions between Gregory and scenery elements
  • Player can no longer die in cutscene
  • The brightness adjusts correctly according to the user settings during cutscenes

Bulk Bugfixes

  • Fazwatch interface removes properly after use
  • The game time is correctly recorded and no longer partially
  • In the minigame “‘Monty’s Mini Golf”, it is no longer possible to jump holes with the keys [ et ]
  • Mazercise’s Labyrinth no longer causes slowdowns
  • The maze command board is better outlined for interactions
  • Controller Freddy no longer causes a black screen in some cases

  • The game no longer softlocks when the player pauses it during a cutscene (Ex: Capture of Freddy by Moon)
  • Fixed the Artificial Intelligence of Monty and Roxy during “classic” / “Office” phases
  • Comedian Bots correctly play their roles in Daycare
  • Improvement of the possible routes in game by deactivating or not certain dialogues which appeared abnormally
  • Finally, many graphic fixes on animations and 3D models.

The Future of FNAF: Security Breach

In conclusion of this important changelog, we can note the absence of mention of new content or patches thereafter. Even on the official FNAF Reddit, no details come up on the Steel Wool side. However, it is worth remembering that until then, most of the studio’s major announcements were held at PlayStation events. Rest assured, the game remains a notable success for the studio and seems to have exceeded one million sales on the various platforms.
