If you are elected Chancellor, your family should not be missing: Olaf Scholz had his wife, father, mother and his brothers in tow.

The SPD politician Olaf Scholz (63) has been the ninth Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany since Wednesday, December 8th. Not only did his political followers keep their fingers crossed for him in the Bundestag election, he also had his entire family in tow. His parents Gerhard and Christel Scholz, among others, took their places in the stands and attended the historic event.

As reported by the “Bild” newspaper, replied Gerhard Scholz when asked whether his son would do a good job as Chancellor: “He will do it with solidity.” Olaf Scholz’s two brothers were also among the guests: Ingo (60) and Jens Scholz (62). Who of course couldn’t be missing: Olaf Scholz’s wife, Britta Ernst (60), who was sitting right next to her in-laws. Ernst and Scholz met and fell in love with the Young Socialists in 1984.

Gerhard Schröder was also there as a guest

Not quite a family, but at least a party member: Another guest of honor also gave Olaf Scholz the honor. Former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (77) attended the election and swearing-in ceremony along with his wife So-yeon Schröder-Kim (53).
