Giant wedding celebrations, petty criminals, cesspools – if a comedy was announced to me like this, I would expect something in the caliber of “The Wedding Crashers” and flee. But wait: there is a film that works wonderfully together, a small one fairytale panopticon of the curious, conceived and staged by Emir Kusturica: “Black cat, white cat” (“Crna mačka, beli mačor”) is about medium-sized money, great love, great sense of family and simply makes you happy when you watch it. Claudia Fudeus

“Black cat, white cat” is considered to be on Amazon DVD available.

This easy-going road trip movie just makes me happy: Daniel (Moritz Bleibtreu), a somewhat dull trainee teacher, falls head over heels in love with beautiful Melek and decides to follow her to Istanbul. The jewelry seller Juli (Chistiane Paul) joins him and turns his previously orderly life upside down – and here she is wild odyssey through Eastern Europe preprogrammed! Daniel is spared nothing: From the first drug trip to the Turkish border jail, he has to pass a number of tests in order to find his true happiness away from physics formulas. Claudia Enders

“In July” is on Amazon as Stream available.

My all-time favorite film: Forrest Gump. And even in 1000 years no other film will be able to hold a candle to this. Why? Because he’s with Tom Hanks not only has the best of all the best leading actors, but also evokes all the emotions that a film can evoke: you laugh, cry, are excited, carried away, surprised, angry …

In addition, the film has a very intelligent plot in which historical details are taken up over and over again. Even after watching the 38th time, I still find little things in the film that I didn’t even notice before. This Masterpiece shows: Life is an up and down, with surprising twists and turns, in which it is always worthwhile to be a good person. Because how did Forrest Gump’s mother always say so beautifully? Life is like a box of chocolates. You don’t know what you’re getting! Annalena Schieber

“Forrest Gump” is on Amazon as a Stream as well as DVD and Blu-ray available.

The grumpy weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) sits in one Time warp fixed and condemned to relive the same day over and over again. No matter what he does, he wakes up in the morning of the day he has experienced before. At first he spends the day trying out minor and major sillinesses that ultimately have no consequences for him or working on a strategy to get his colleague Rita (Andie MacDowell) around. In the end, however, he tries to make the day as meaningful as possible and then experiences a surprise. Funny, tragic and heartwarming – an absolute feel-good classic! Natalja Fischer

“Groundhog Day” is on Amazon as Stream and DVD available.

Does a feel-good movie always have to be nothing but sunshine? I mean no. So many sad things happen in my favorite copy of this “genre” – even a dead one is to be lamented. The good mood fades during the Journey with Olive still not. With the contender for the beauty title of “Little Miss Sunshine” it goes across America to the big national decision-making show – although or precisely because it does not meet the Lolita-like requirements of such competitions. Always in tow: hers quirky family. Every single one has to carry his or her parcel and has to deal with disappointments in the course of the film. At the latest in the finals (of the beauty contest and film) I have a huge grin on my face. Why? Better see it for yourself – it’s worth it. Julia Koschel

“Little Miss Sunshine” is on Amazon as Stream available.
