The father of the policeman suspected of having killed his partner at the end of January in Paris called on his son on Friday to “surrender without delay”, also inviting people who were able to help him in his escape to come forward.

“Arnaud, if you see me, if you hear me, if you see this message, I ask you to go to the nearest police station or gendarmerie without delay,” said the policeman’s father in a video message broadcast by BFMTV. , face uncovered but without his identity being mentioned.

The 29-year-old peacekeeper has been wanted since January 28, the day of the discovery in his apartment in the 19th arrondissement of Paris of the body of his companion, aged 28 and who died by strangulation, according to the autopsy. The body had been discovered in the bathroom by Parisian police officers who came to the suspect’s home, assigned to Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The policeman’s father continued on television: “I also ask the people who were able to help you in this useless escape to come forward as soon as possible too (…) Do it for Amanda, for her parents, her family, we need to know”.

He also explains that he met his son’s companion on several occasions, calling her “a ray of sunshine, always smiling, adorable”. Referring to his son, he speaks of a man who can be “a bit possessive”, who “has never been angry”.

On February 10, the policeman made a bank withdrawal of 1,500 euros in Breteuil, in the Oise, a town located about a hundred kilometers from the capital. The same day, a call for witnesses was launched by the Paris police headquarters.

Two days later, the car mentioned on the search notice was recognized by a local resident “in the Burger King parking lot in Amiens-Sud”, according to a source familiar with the matter.
