Femicide in Paris: the car and the weapon of the policeman on the run found in Amiens

The vehicle of the policeman suspected of having killed his companion, on January 28 in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, was found this weekend in Amiens (Somme).

The officer’s service weapon and its loaded magazines were also in the car, according to CNEWS information.

The 29-year-old man is still on the run and actively sought by the police since the wanted notice issued by the Paris police headquarters on February 10.

On January 28, the body of his wife (28) was discovered in a Parisian apartment. She would have died by strangulation.

The 2nd district of the judicial police (2nd DPJ) is in charge of the investigation opened for “intentional homicide on a partner”.

Violence against his companion reported in 2019

On the administrative side, the prefect of police Didier Lallement seized the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) to investigate possible shortcomings concerning the authorization to carry a weapon granted to the police officer, known for domestic violence and his psychological fragility.

He had been placed in police custody in October 2019 for violence against his partner at the time and had received an alternative to prosecution, an awareness course on domestic violence.

Administratively, he had been sanctioned with a simple warning, the lowest disciplinary sanction in the public service, not recorded in the agent’s file.
