There are discussions, there are arguments – many couples are familiar with phases in their relationship in which there is more bickering and teasing than loving cuddles and hearty laughter together. Feng Shui stands for harmony within your own four walls and not only promises a general positive feeling of space, but can also help things go better in the relationship and strengthen love. The traditional Chinese teaching of Feng Shui is all about Qi (or Chi), the energy that flows through our surroundings, the environment and our body. It is important that this energy is in a good balance. If the energies are in harmony, general well-being and also the relationship can be improved. There are so-called Feng Shui principles that are intended to help strengthen Qi and keep disturbing influences away.
The founder of the German Feng Shui Institute (DFSI), Katrin Martin-Fröhling, explained to us how a beautifully furnished apartment can have a positive effect on a relationship, and this is where these special Feng Shui tips for shared happiness in love (and also singles, who are still looking for a partner). 11 tips on how Feng Shui creates harmony in relationships
1. Find the Bagua area
In Feng Shui practice, there are eight different life themes that are classified into so-called Bagua areas: career, knowledge, wealth, fame, creativity, travel and relationships. The relationship area is also often called love and partnership and resonates with the direction southwest and the element earth. Since every apartment is designed differently, the Bagua area of love and partnership is different in every apartment. Therefore, the first step is to find out what the situation is like in this Bagua area. If the floor plan area is relatively smaller than the others, it is advisable to add more design to this area. 2. Color for happiness in love
In design, colors are a quick and very effective means of balancing out disharmonies and bringing a design advantage to this area. All yellow, beige and natural tones fit very well into the area of love and partnership. But rosewood or muted orange accents are also ideal. They still contain some fire energy and can activate love.
3. Take two! … for extra couple vibes
Use couple objects for activation because they subconsciously connect us to the topic of partnership. For example, set up two lamps, two flower pots or two identical vases and make sure to always supply them with fresh flowers. To activate love, two candles that you consciously light every day would be ideal.
4. Please don’t underestimate the bedroom
The bedroom is the room that is closely linked to the theme of partnership. You can also add Feng Shui accents here by strengthening the southwest at room level in the bedroom. Simply use the compass to measure in which direction the southwest can be found here and activate it as already explained in points 2 and 3.
5. Approach the matter with sense and sensitivity
If you want to add a little more zest to your partnership, try red bed linen – for example made of silk. Bamboo fiber and a cotton satin would also be ideal; this is about activating sensuality and feeling. If you then put some rose spray on the bed linen, it will receive an additional activation kick towards love.
6. Avoid arguments with Feng Shui
You can also tune your room subtly to your partnership and the desired harmony. This can be achieved, for example, with incense on the theme of love and security. This is especially important if there are communication problems or you argue frequently. Cinnamon, Indian frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood and rose petals are suitable for incense for love rituals. The aromatic and balsamic scents create a harmonious atmosphere, open the heart and passion.
7. Eat next to each other
Make sure that you don’t have any confrontational sitting positions, for example at the dining table or on the sofa. This means: If there is tension, sitting across the corner is better than across the table – as this is associated with confrontation.
8. Place treasures of the past correctly
Also ideal for the Bagua area of love and partnership in an existing relationship: Place emotional anchors in the southwest, i.e. objects with which you both have very fond memories. This could be, for example, a vacation picture that reminds you of a good time together. And in turn, remove the things that are stressful for your relationship. So if there was another partner before, then it’s good to redesign the room and remove personal things from that old relationship.
9. If the room is ready, you are ready!
From a Feng Shui perspective, it is important to consciously do something for love and the relationship. If you then implement the right activation in the right place, then it’s like an ad in the book of your life saying: “I am now ready for love, ready for a harmonious partnership.” And since your room, if you have designed it according to Feng Shui, now radiates exactly this energy, it will always bring you into resonance with this life theme, so that it will manifest itself more and more.
10. Still single? Attract love with Feng Shui
Anyone who is still looking for the right partner should anticipate “having found” in everyday life. Here’s a tip that works wonders: Always make up your double bed (yes, you should have that!) on both sides and decorate your room as if you were already in a relationship.
11. The shelf is not half empty, but half full!
The same applies – although it may be difficult – to the wardrobe. Here too, an empty shelf for the future partner’s clothes magically attracts him/her into life. So what are you waiting for! Sort out old and unworn items, free yourself and make room for your future partner.
